2025 Paris Fair Prize Book

How to prepare fruits and vegetables for exhibition: 

Choose medium carrots, potatoes, and beets. 

Choose regular-shaped specimens. 

Choose specimens as nearly the same shape and size as possible. 

Choose specimens that are free from blemishes of any kind. 

Polish with a dry cloth. 

Choose large onions. Bend the tops over some time before pulling so that the tops will stop growing after pulling, allow the onions to dry in the sun. DO NOT PULL. 

Potatoes must NOT be washed. 

Both green and red tomatoes must have calyx intact. 

Use sturdy plates to display. 

Put your age on the back of every tag as of June 1st.

VEGETABLES & FRUIT

1. Carrots, 3 roots, any variety (1" top left on).

9. 3 red tomatoes, NOT cherry. 

10. 3 green tomatoes. 

11. 3 sweet peppers, any variety. 

12. 3 hot peppers, any variety, named. 

13. 3 jalapeno peppers. 

14. 3 ears of sweet corn. 

15. Butternut squash. 

16. Squash, any variety, named. 

17. Eggplant. 

18. Zucchini. 

19. 3 cucumbers. 

20. 3 beets (1" top left on). 

21. Pie pumpkin. 

22. Grapes, 1 bunch. 

23. 3 apples, named. 

24. 3 pears, named. 

25. Mud Pie decorated in a MIDWAY theme to Celebrate 50 Years with Campbell's Amusements, using items from nature (10 & under, mark age). 

26. A collection of RED COLOURED vegetables and/or fruit in a suitable container, not to exceed 9"x9" or 9" in diameter. 

27. A display from your vegetable garden for a centerpiece, to Celebrate 50 Years with Campbell's Amusements Midway, in a suitable container. 

28. SPECIAL: Homemade stuffed scarecrow, theme to Celebrate 50 Years with Campbell's Amusements, entry NOT to exceed 1 meter on a firm base. Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $4.00, 3rd: $3.00, 4th: $2.50, 5th: $2.00 Donated by John & Kim Peirce. 

29. SPECIAL: Make your favourite MIDWAY TREAT, using only fruits and vegetables, displayed on a firm base. Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $4.00, 3rd: $3.00, 4th: $2.50, 5th: $2.00 Donated by John & Kim Peirce. 

30. SPECIAL: Decorate a fruit or vegetable to look like a MIDWAY STUFFED ANIMAL, using fruits and vegetables. Will allow items such as; toothpicks, skewers, buttons, etc. Displayed on a firm base, to be judged on creativity (10 & under, mark age). Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $4.00, 3rd: $3.00, 4th: $2.50, 5th: $2.00 Donated by Kelly Turnbull. 

31. SPECIAL: Decorate a fruit or vegetable to look like a FERRIS WHEEL, using fruit and vegetables. display on a firm base Will allow items such as; toothpicks, skewers, buttons, etc. Displayed on a firm base, to be judged on creativity (11 & over, mark age) Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $4.00, 3rd: $3.00, 4th: $2.50, 5th: $2.00 Donated by Darlene Ilett.

CLASS 505

1. Tallest stock of corn, CUT OFF AT ROOT TOP (10 & under, mark age).

2. Tallest stock of corn, CUT OFF AT ROOT TOP (11 & over, mark age).

3. 3 ears of grain corn.

4. 4 stalks of soybeans, CUT OFF AT ROOT. Displayed in a container supplied by PAS.

5. 1 quart wheat, named (in glass jar). 

6. 1 quart barley, named (in glass jar).

Exhibits in sections 7-11 inclusive to consist of a sample grown in 2025. The quantity to be shown is equal to 1 flake of a bale (8" slice of a small bale or equivalent from a large square or round). 

Displayed in a container supplied by PAS.
