How to prepare fruits and vegetables for exhibition:
Choose medium carrots, potatoes, and beets.
Choose regular-shaped specimens.
Choose specimens as nearly the same shape and size as possible.
Choose specimens that are free from blemishes of any kind.
Polish with a dry cloth.
Choose large onions. Bend the tops over some time before pulling so that the tops will stop growing after pulling, allow the onions to dry in the sun. DO NOT PULL.
Potatoes must NOT be washed.
Both green and red tomatoes must have calyx intact.
Use sturdy plates to display.
Put your age on the back of every tag as of June 1st.
