NO PLASTIC HEAT SEAL ON BAKING. Must be exhibitors work. Remove baking from pans (except pies). One piece of loaves/pies/cakes will be displayed the remainder will be donated to volunteers to prevent waste.

YEAST BREADS

Bread and loaves to be in plastic bags. NOT from a bread machine.

Bread and loaves to be in plastic bags. Muffin papers MUST be removed.

In 8" or 9" foil pie plates. Homemade filling and pastry.

HINT: for better baked pie crust pre-treat a new, empty foil pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

44. Cheddar Scones, 3 wedges on a small plate - use following recipe: 

2 1/4 cups (560 mL) all-purpose flour 

4 tsp (20 mL) baking powder 

1 tbsp (15 mL) sugar 

1 tsp (5 mL) salt 

1/2 cup (125 mL) butter 

1 egg beaten 

1 cup (250 mL) Milk 

1 cup (250 mL) shredded Canadian Cheddar cheese 

1 egg yolk beaten 

Poppy seeds 

Preheat oven to 450 °F (230 °C). In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture is crumbly. Stir in egg, milk, and 3/4 cup (180 mL) of the Canadian Cheddar cheese, stirring just until moistened. Turn out on a lightly floured board and knead gently about 20 times, adding more flour to dough if necessary. Place dough on ungreased baking sheet. Pat or roll out to 8 inch (20 cm) circle. Cut into 8 wedges but do not separate. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake 12 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining Canadian Cheddar cheese. Return to oven until it is melted.
