ALL EXHIBITS must be SOLELY THE WORK OF THE EXHIBITOR unless otherwise specified.

Exhibits must be clean, current, in new condition and may not be exhibited for more than 2 years.

One entry per section. Attach exhibit tag using safety pins NOT straight pins.

KNITTING AND CROCHETING is to be hand done unless otherwise specified.

NOTE: If there are more than eight entries in a section, 2 firsts, 2 seconds, 2 thirds may be awarded.

Any items from the Handicraft Section that are not picked up by December 1st will be donated to the Paris Christmas Hampers.

CLASS 430

SPECIAL - COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT TOUCH, TACTILE or FIDGET QUILTS

These quilts/blankets/mats will be donated to Dementia and Alzheimer patients in seniors residences throughout Brant County and to Lansdowne Childrens Centre Autism Services. The blankets help to soothe agitated fidgeting, help focus attention, stimulate senses and exercise hand muscles. The quilt/ blanket should measure 24" to 28" square or rectangular.

No age limit. No exhibitor fee. No limit of entries.

1. Touch Quilts/Blankets are SENSORY. They are colourful and feature different textures such as fake fur, satin, corduroy, terry towel, smooth cotton, plush and fleece. They may contain pictured fabrics and have a theme, but no embellishments.

2. Fidget Quilts/Blankets are PURPOSEFUL, often themed, with a variety of fabrics and colours. Include zippers, buttons, Velcro, ties, pockets, etc. attached securely (no beads).

QUILTING

  • All exhibits must be solely the work of the exhibitor unless otherwise specified.
  • No long-arm unless specified.
  • All submitted articles must be clean, like-new condition & not exhibited more than 2 years.
  • Judges may disqualify exhibits which are soiled or in poor condition. Preference will be given to new work.
  • Please note that sponsors are not allowed to compete in a section she/he is sponsoring.
  • The committee will cover all quilts and afghans with clear plastic while on display for the fair.
