Paris Fair Prize Book

Exhibits must be clean, the work of the exhibitor, and not shown more than one year. One entry per section. Questions or comments can be directed to the committee chair.

CLASS 530

Prizes: 1st: $2.50, 2nd: $2.00, 3rd: $1.75, 4th: $1.50, 5th: $1.25 - Unless otherwise noted

SECTION 1-7: OPEN TO CHILDREN 8 YEARS AND UNDER

1. Create a picture of a fall tree using yarn, felt, buttons or other sewing notions. 

2. Create a picture of a sunflower using yarn, felt, buttons or other sewing notions. 

3. String buttons on a piece of yarn, no longer than 12". To be judged on the PATTERN of the buttons. 

4. Make a picture of a jack-o-lantern on a piece of craft foam, using yarn, fabric, buttons, ribbons or other sewing notions. No larger than 8 1/2"x11". 

5. Using craft foam make the shape of a leaf. sew around the edge of the leaf with yarn and a darning needle. 

6. SPECIAL: Cover a can in a fall theme using fabric, buttons, yarn or any other sewing notions. Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $2.50, 3rd: $2.00, 4th: $1.75, 5th: $1.50 1st prize donated in memory of Norma Brooks. 

7. SPECIAL: Dress your favourite teddy bear as a Scarecrow (5 items only, securely attached). Ride Coupons for Section 5 Only: awarded to all creditable entries courtesy of D.A. Campbell Amusements to be picked up at the Fair Office on Fair days. 

SECTIONS 8-21: OPEN TO CHILDREN 11 YEARS AND UNDER

8. Using a sock make a puppet of a fall figure (eg scarecrow, jack-o-lantern, black cat etc). 

9. Weave a placemat using craft foam and ribbon, no larger than 11"x17". 

10. Machine-sewn article. 

11. Any item made from recycled fabric. 

12. SPECIAL: Hand sew the words "Fall Festival" on a piece of craft foam. No larger than 8 1/2"x11". Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $2.50, 3rd: $2.00, 4th: $1.75, 5th: $1.50 1st prize donated by Joanne Brooks. 

13. SPECIAL: T-shirt or sweatshirt decorated for a Fall (leaves, pumpkin etc). Prizes: 1st: $5.00, 2nd: $2.50, 3rd: $2.00, 4th: $1.75, 5th: $1.50 1st prize donated in memory of Norma Brooks. 

14. SPECIAL: Sew a pencil case or makeup bag. Prizes: 1st: $10.00, 2nd: $8.00, 3rd: $6.00, 4th: $2.50, 5th: $2.00 Donated by Brant Heritage Quilters Guild 

15. Any hand sewn item. 

16. Machine-sewn garment. 

17. T-shirt or sweatshirt decorated for Halloween. 

18. Any sewn item made from recycled fabric. 

19. SPECIAL: 2 machine sewn pillow cases. Prizes: 1st: $15.00, 2nd: $12.00, 3rd: $8.00, 4th: $2.50, 5th: $2.00 Donated by Paris Quilting Bees.

SECTIONS 22-45: OPEN TO CHILDREN 18 YEARS AND UNDER

25. SPECIAL: A raggedy quilt, must be larger than 36"x45". Prizes: 1st: $10, 2nd: $6, 3rd: $5, 4th: $4, 5th: $3, 6th: $2 Donated by Jerry and Bernice McAughey. 

26. Any sewn gift for a young child. 

27. Any machine sewn craft.

35. A pieced quilt (not from panel) no larger than 70"x98" (twin size) hand or machine quilted. 

36. Counted cross-stitch article. 

37. Any braided article.
