2019 Paris Fair Ambassador
Sponsor – Women Inspiring Women
Excerpt from the Brantford Expositor, September 2, 2019
The 19-year-old Paris native, now living on her parent’s hobby farm in Glen Morris, said the ambassador competition was challenging, yet fun.
“Each of us had to write a resume, be interviewed, and present a speech,” Gillyatt said. “It was a good opportunity for everyone, win or lose.”
Carmen said she is thankful for the support received from members of the Women’s Institute – Women Inspiring Women that were sponsors of her candidacy for fair ambassador.
Currently enrolled in concurrent education at Brock University with the goal of becoming a teacher, Gillyatt said that growing up she would always come to the fair. Involved with 4-H, she would exhibit, show sheep, and volunteer at the Junior Farmer’s booth.
Even though the fair wrapped up Labour Day Monday, Gillyatt will make appearances and represent the Paris Fair throughout the year.
“I’m really excited to be in the Canadian National Exhibition’s ambassador competition (next summer),” Carmen said. “It will be a nice conclusion to the year.”
